Stewart, Courtright, brother. Date and place of burial Feby. 23rd, 1923, at Union Cemetery, Township of Moore. Robert Gibb Stewart tells that his mother, Jean Gibb, was born in West Calder, Scotland. It seems prudent to accept this. The 1906 Beers Biographies of Lambton County, page 566, has two pages relating to the Gibb family. Calder, both East and West, gets mentioned. Death registrations sometimes carry errors as to the places of birth for decedents, but it does seem reasonable that Mary's mother, Jean Gibb was born in West Calder, per son Robert's information on Mary's death registration. |
