NoteJoseph Fleury and his wife Mary Sipes are buried in Aurora Cemetery in the town of Aurora. Aurora, which, at least at the time, straddled the townships of King and Whitchurch in York County.

A transcription of their gravestone is provided by the York County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Mary Sipes, so named, is described as the wife of Joseph Fleury. Joseph's date of death is shown as January 12, 1860, age 74 years, 12 days. Mary's date of death is shown as July 1, 1874, age 78 years.

Joseph and Mary probably died in King Township, but direct information to this effect has not been found. Joseph's death predates death registrations. There should be a death registration for Mary, but one has not been found.

Joseph and Mary are in King Township as of the 1851 census. They have with them, or at the least close to them, an extensive family. Joseph's name does not appear in the agricultural portion of the 1851 census, but names of his sons do. John and Alex Fleury appear on lots 9 or 10 of the 1st concession of King Township.

Joseph died in 1860. Mary appears in the 1861 census for King Township with her daughter Mary Ann Fleury Love and Mary Ann's husband Robert Love. As noted, Robert Love and Mary Ann Fleury had wed in 1846.

Mary Sipes Fleury is still living as of the 1871 census in King Township. The manner in which her name is presented would indicate that she was living on her own.
