Parents Abraham and Lucinda Masters. Witnesses George Clemens, Waterloo Twp., and Mary Harris, Hespeler. On March 22, 1871, at Waterloo Twp., by William Williams, N.C. Methodist Minister. The mother of the groom's name is ill written on the registration. At first glance it was thought to be Susannah, but a closer examination of family names as they appear in varied transcriptions and histories - Ezra Eby's Waterloo Township biographies for one - the given name Lophamah does have currency and so it is shown as such here. The evidence isn't perfect, but this appears to be correct. |

Note | Mary Ann Master's marriage registration shows her place of birth as Waterloo Township. This is entirely possible, though her family was in Wilmot Township by the time of the 1851 census (actually begun in January of 1852.) Death reg. 016911-90 Waterloo Twp., Waterloo Co. Mary Ann Eaton died March 26th, 1890. Age 41 yrs., 5 mos., 6 dys. Farmer's wife. Born Ontario. Methodist. Cause of death cancer, six months. The above registration appears to be missing an entry. Either the physician is B. McIntyre, or he was the informant, or both. Residence of the informant is given as Waterloo Twp. |
