The following is taken from the Wellington County District Marriage Register. The museum has it microfilmed and this has been used for the transcription:

The Marriage Register of Upper Canada/Canada West, Vol. 9, Pt 1, Wellington District, 1840-1852, compiled by Dan Walker & Fawne Stratford-Devai, Global Heritage Press, Milton (now Ottawa), 2013, page 40.

Marriages by Rev'd James Sim, Baptist Minister, Waterloo.
(This may not mean Town of Waterloo, but rather the township.)

Nathaniel Cosens to Elvira Watson, Both of Waterloo, 6 May, 1846, by Licence. Rev. Sim.
Witnesses Ransford Watson and Charles Adsett.

DeathShe died in 1852.
BurialShe was buried at Kinzie Biehn Cemetery, Waterloo Twp., Waterloo Co..
NoteElvira Watson's record as it appears in the Kinzie-Bean (so called) Cemetery transcription is not based on her gravestone, but rather a Watson family memorial stone erected in 1932. This shows Elvira J. Watson as the wife of Nathaniel Cosens. Her dates of birth and death are shown as 1827-1852.

Kinzie-Biehn Cemetery is adjacent to the Doon Presbyterian Cemetery. It is indeed apparent, looking over the 1851 census for Waterloo Township, that at the time of the census Nathanial and Elvira are in the Doon area. They have no children with them. They are quite obviously among Watsons, some names of whom appear on the Watson family 1932 memorial. This 1851 census has a column entitled 'Residence if out of Limits', and the residence for Nathaniel and Elvira is shown as Guelph.

The 1932 memorial stone shows listed with Elvira a James Cosens, 1850-1850, and John G. Cosens, 1852-1930. It is possible there was an earlier child or two, perhaps buried in Guelph, but a record for such has not been found.
