Informant James T. Rutherford. It does appear that Rhoda was named after James' first wife. Death reg. 003441-74 Onondaga Twp., Brant Co. Rhoda E. Rutherford died Feby. 21st, 1874, age 1 yr., 4 mos., 24 dys. Place of birth Onondaga Village. Physician and informant Dr. Osbourne of Middleport. Registration was filed with township clerk by Dr. Osbourne on the same day as Rhoda's death. Rhoda was buried in the Farringdon Burial Ground in Brantford. The Brant County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society provides a transcription and this shows Rhoda's date of death as Feb. 2, 1874. While the stone is worn, CanGenWeb's photograph of the stone shows her date of death to be February 21st. Add to that, Rhoda's age, as given by Dr. Osbourne, 1 year, 4 months, and 24 days, computes to a date of birth of September 28, 1872, which is her date of birth as shown on her birth registration. |
