NoteGeorge Bookless makes an appearence in the 1881 census taken at Guelph. He is with his wife Sabina and her sister and husband, Teressa and Thomas Galer. He appears to be the George Bookless mentioned in a Guelph directory of 1871-72 who is a clerk on Market Square, perhaps at the Royal Hotel. A William Bookless is the proprietor of the day.

George is later in partnership with Thomas Galer in the operating of the Royal Hotel. They make their last appearance in the 1885-86 directory.

George Bookless appears in a Toronto directory in 1894, living at 98 John St. He is said to be a traveller. In 1899 a George Bookless is bartender at The Arlington. He rooms at 14 Widmer. In 1910 George Bookless is bartender at the Imperial Hotel and lives at 114 Patrick St.

George's death registration is 035654-31. This gives his death date as August 28. This also gives his birth date as September 28, 1851, and is the source for the entry in this tree. His parents are said to be Jno. Bookless and Jessie Rickets. Both were born in Scotland.
