| Note | After Henry's death in 1879, Mary is found in the 1881 census in Dunn Township of Haldimand Count. In households around her are persons who are obviously her children. She is with someone - a Rittenhouse, but the name is indiscernable. She has not been found in the 1891 census. In 1901, she is shown in Dunn Township. The name of the head of household is ill written, but is apparently her son Freeman. This census provides dates of birth and hers is shown as 5 March, 1828. The 1851 census tells that she was born in Clinton Township. Her parents' names have not been found. According to Mary's gravestone in South Cayuga Mennonite Cemetery, she died on January 1, 1902. A death registration has not been found. An obituary for Mary has not been found. She is buried with Henry. |
