Note | Examining the 1881 census in Gainsboro, wherein Eric is age 8 and shown as Eric L. Willcox, as well as the 1891 census, wherein she is shown as age 18 and as Eric, it's difficult to escape the conclusion that her name was...Eric. Her marriage registration certainly appears to show her as Eric and handwriting issues notwithstanding, this seems to be correct. Her marriage registration shows husband Jacob as being born in Wellandport, but residing in Buffalo. They are in Buffalo as of the 1900 census. This shows her name as Leticia and, since the 1881 census provides her middle initial as L., we must believe this to be correct. The Buffalo 1900 census shows her birth as being in September of 1873. A birth registration has been sought, but not found. With them in Buffalo in 1900 are two daughters, born in New York State, Mini and Josephine. No certain record has been found for the family later. |
