John Graybiel

ID # 8380, (1809-)
BirthJohn Graybiel was born in 1809.
MarriageHe married Delora (--?--)
NoteNames of children of John and Delora are taken initially from the 1861 census in Wainfleet Township There are also names for infant children who are to be found in a transcription of Oakwood Cemetery in Wainfleet as done by the Wainfleet Public Library in 1981 and permission was given to the Niagara branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society to publish this in 1986. The stones were worn at time of transcription and question marks were inserted where the legibility was poor.

The children appear to be in one section of the cemetery. This includes members of the Graybiel extended family, most relationships being unknown, but the children's graves are in Row 13 and begin with stone 1.

Just where John Graybiel himself is buried has yet to be found. Likewise, his wife Delora's place of burial has not been found. Delora remarried in 1866 to Jacob Misener. We do have a death registration for Delora which dates her death to 1889. The registration shows her religious persuasion as that of Disciple. If she is buried in a Disciple cemetery, your researcher is presently unaware of such a place.

There is in Wainfleet Township a 'Grabell' Cemetery. This has also in times past been called the Kinnard Cemetery. A transcription for this cemetery has been provided by the Niagara branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. We are probably on safe ground interpreting this to be of the Graybiel family, but however this may be, there is no evidene that John and Delora are buried here or any of their children.
