| Note | Michael Moser's gravestone in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Bamberg, Wellesley Township, shows that he died on December 21, 1904. It tells that he is age 84 years, 8 months, 12 days. This calculates to a date of birth of April 9, 1820. The 1901 census show him living with son Enoch in Wellesley Township and this same date is quoted in the column for his date of birth. Age in years, months, and days don't always calculate out exactly, but it has with Michael. Michael's surname Moser is spelled as such on his gravestone. Ezra Eby, in Vol 2 of his biographies of the people of Waterloo Township, records the family name as Mosser. Michael's death registration also shows his name as Mosser. Census information as well as his gravestone spell it as Moser and that is how it is spelled here. Death reg. 028612-05 Wellesley Twp., Waterloo Co. Michael Mosser died December 21, 1904. Age 84 yrs., 8 mos., 12 dys. Residence Wellesley Township. Retired. Born Germany. Physician Wm. Glaister. Informant Enoch Mosser. There was also a death notice for Michael in the Berliner Journal edition of December 28, 1904, page 2. This tells that he died near Bamburg on the 21st December. His age is shown as it appears in his death registration and gravestone, namely 84 yrs., 8 mos., 12 dys. |
