Place of parents marriage Fort Frances, Jan. 1897 (actually January of 1896). Edward J. Locke, tinsmith, and Isabelle McDonald. Physician Robert Moore. Name of person supplying information Mrs. Mosher of Fort Frances. Declared by a Mrs. Mosher on 5 October, 1926. Residence Fort Frances. A statement accompanying the declaration: I am the aunt of this person, etc. I lived across the road from the parents of the said Elsie C. Locke and visited the home the day after her birth and know that she was born on the date and the place mentioned. Unquote It's rather likely that Mrs. Mosher is Maria, the wife of Rufus Mosher and who appears in the 1921 census at Fort Frances. She was born in Manitoba as was Isabella, Elsie's mother. This hasn't been examined in depth, but Mrs. Mosher was likely a McDonald. |
