The handwriting is such that the clergyman's name looks to be Aden G. King. Andrew Taylor's Banners Unfurled, published in 1949 on the 125th anniversary of First Church, shows his name as Adam and tells that he liked to call himself a man without a country, for he was born at sea when his parents were en route to North America. The 1901 census at Galt confirms this, for it shows his name as Adam and tells that he was born on the Atlantic Ocean. |

| Note | Death reg. 040863-18 Preston, Waterloo Co. George Hunt died July 4, 1918, age 68. Born, died, and buried at Preston. Engineer, married. Father Robert (Hunt) mother Elvina Clafman. Physician A. Oaks. Informant Louise Hunt, Galt. Louise is buried with her parents in section J of Preston Cemetery. She is identified as the wife of George Hunt. George's death registration indicates that he was buried in Preston, but a search of cemeteries has not found his place of burial. An index places the burial of a George Hunt in Old Preston Cemetery, but this seems to be incorrect. The is a George Hunt, son of Robert and Viena Hunt buried in Zion United, Maple Grove Cemetery in Woolwich Township, formerly Waterloo Twp., and he is indeed the son of Robert and Viena Hunt who died in 1848 at the age of 6 months. Evidently, they took another run at the name George and he lived to marry Louisa Tilk Wight. |
