| Note | Jessie's name is shown as such here for, mostly, it is shown as such on the marriage records of her children and in census information. The main reason that her name is show as Jessie is that it appears as such on her gravestone in Hamilton Cemetery. It does also appear in some records as Janet, Jennett, and Jannett. Either she had two names or one of them was a nickname. A date or place for the marriage of Jessie and her first husband, Alexander Ritchie, has not been found. It may well have been in Scotland, for they are both said to be from there, but Isabella, their first born, at least according to the 1861 census at Grimsby, was born in Canada. As of the 1871 census, Death reg. 033976-10 Hamilton, Wentworth Co. Jessie Blasdell died 26th November, 1910, at 336 Main St. West. Age 75. Born at Invergarden, Scotland, on 17th July, 1835. Parents John Graham and Flora Monro, both born Invergarden, Scotland. Physician J. T. Rogers of Hamilton. Informant John Ritchie of Lynden. Jessie is buried with her first husband, Alexander Ritchie, in Hamilton Cemetery. |
