Appleby was a village at the time Robert and Isabella were married. There was a post office there from March 1st, 1857, to December 31st, 1914. Where Appleby was located is to the south of the present day Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington, Ontario. This is quite a built up area. Going by Google satellite, anything resembling a village is long gone.
