Physician Dr. Sutherland. Informant James E. Dyer, minister, Oakville. The above death registration is unusual. It is one of four sequential entries, most likely all from April of 1884, that no date of death was entered. There is no clue to say why this should be the case. We identify Charles as the son of George and Jane based on his approximate year of birth. He appears as age 4 in the 1871 census at Trafalgar Township. He is 14 at the time of the 1881 census in Nelson Township. His father died later that year and is buried in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Jane died in 1892 and she is buried in Mount Vernon. Charles died in 1884 and it's difficult to imagine him being buried other than with his father. There is room for some misperception as to who exactly Charles may be. More research may yet come up with another answer. |
