The first portion of the document, a marriage license, is dated November 3rd, 1875. This was applied for by William H. B. Walker, age 24, the son of A. G. Walker, deceased, and Harriet D. Walker, residing at Rockingham. Named as the prospective bride is Alicia Husband of Rockingham, age 24, the daughter of George and Jane Husband. The second portion of the document records the marriage which is dated November 11, 1875, at Williamsburg. This was performed by W. C. Norman, a minister of the M. E. C. South. There were three witnesses: J. W. Smith, George Husband, and Robert Young, all of Rockingham. |

This is almost certainly Alicia Husband Walker, she who married William Walker of North Carolina in 1875. That her will should be found in the Halton County Surrogate Court when her residence was in North Carolina is a bit counterintuitive. An examination of her will may provide the answer. The Archives of Ontario have a Surrogate Court index book which would lead to the correct microfilm. Death registrations for Alicia and her husband William have been sought, but not found. Dates for births and deaths as shown are as shown on their gravestones in Lowes United Methodist Church Cemetery in Reidsville, Rockingham County, North Carolina.
