McRoberts, 132 Galley Ave., and Gladys Caroline, 470 Montrose Ave. On 3 May 1922 at Toronto, York County, by A. R. Addison, 112 Sorauren Ave. The clergyman's entries are a bit abbreviated. He takes for granted the surname of the father's of the groom and bride and they are not shown on the registration. Rev. Addison's handwriting for his street address is off the map. It looks for all the world like 112 'Swansea' Ave., but the Toronto city directory for 1922 show his residence as being 112 Sorauren Ave. Google maps and streetview shows that it still exists. |

Married. Age 54. Housewife. Husband's name Wm. H. McClement. Parents Roland B. McRoberts and Ann Wansborough, both born Canada. Physician George H. Gardiner, Toronto. Informant Wm. H. McClement, 132 St. Johns Road, husband. Cause of death coronary thrombosis. Burial January 21, 1942, at Norval. Una was clearly not born in Toronto. Her birth registration states that she was born in Paris, Brant County, on August 20, 1887, and the report of her birth was filed by her father on September 5th, 1887. It's clear that Una is buried with her parents in Hillcrest Cemetery, Norval, Esquesing Township, Halton County. A death notice appeared on page 24 of the January 20, 1942 edition, of the Toronto Daily Star. This adds little to the above, though it does describe Mrs. James Thomson (Margaret), in Sudbury at the time, as her daughter. Actually, Margaret was the daughter of Ada May Duncan, the first wife of William Henry McClement. Margaret is buried with her mother and father in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Westport, Leeds County. Margaret's dates of birth and death as they appear on the family's gravestone are: 1915-1993. |
