Death reg. 003460-74 South Dumfries, Brant Co. James Sharp Jr. died March 21, 1874. Age 36 years, 3 months. Farmer. Presbyterian. Cause of death heart disease, instantly. Physician none. Informant 'Horus' (Horace) Sharp, farmer, South Dumfries. The page of deaths for Glen Morris church also records the passing of James Jr. It shows his age as 36, his date of death 21 March, as above. It states that he is buried in Glen Morris and the remarks column simply says that he died instantaneously. James' age at date of death as shown on his gravestone in Glen Morris Cemetery is shown as 36 years, 3 months, and 13 days. His date of birth, 8 December, 1837, is calculated from this. It may be accurate or approximate, but considering that he was baptized at First Church in Galt on December 20th, 1837, it won't be far wrong. |
