| Note | To begin with, Linda's name on the gravestone that she shares with her husband, James Harkness, in Vinewood Cemetery, Edmore, Montcalm County, Michigan, is simply shown as Linda and so she is shown as such here. She also appears as Linda in census information in later years. In the 1861 census in Blenheim Township, Oxford County, Canada West, however, her given appears as Ethalinda. The 1871 census, also in Blenheim Township, shows her as Arthy L. Her death registration shows her as Linda.
