Note | Death reg. 034086-18 Morley, Rainy River District Jack 'Genrell' (Gemmill) died January 2nd, 1918. Age 78 yrs., 3 mos., 24 dys. Born Lefroy, Ontario. Place of death N. E. 1/4 section 6, Patullo. Burial Patullo, Ontario. Farmer. Single. Parents John White Jack and Jane Hood. Physician D. McBane, M.D. Informant Wm. Graham, Pinewood, Ont. Gemmill's date of birth is calculated from his shown age at time of death, 78 years, 3 months, and 24 days. This calculates to a birth date of September 9, 1839. It's tempting to say that this will be approximate, but Gemmill is with his sister Jane Jack Graham in Watt Township, Muskoka, at the time of the 1901 census and September 9, 1839, is in fact shown as his date of birth. In 1911 Gemmill is in the household of a John and Ann Clymer and said to be an uncle. Gemmill's sister Jane survived until 1934. She died in Patullo in the Rainy River District and her place of death, like Gemmill's., is shown as being the N.E. 1/4 of section 6 in Patullo. Her burial is in Patullo. Morley apparently is, or at the time 'was', the township. |
