Informant Hawzlett Lawrence, Gravenhurst. An interesting aspect of the above registration is that it shows Gravehurst in Simcoe County. Unquestionably, looking forward and backward at other Gravenhurst birth registrations in 1883, Simcoe County has been entered as the page heading and it has evidently been found by Ancestry on a Simcoe County microfilm reel (these are provided to Ancestry by the Archives of Ontario.) The odd page does have the the county name, Simcoe, stroked out and Muskoka written in above. Certainly, Matchedash Township of Simcoe County borders an area of the Muskoka District that includes Gravenhurst. |
