Informant Charles R. Sneath. The above death registration, which was filed by Dr. Charles R. Sneath on November 8, 1909, shows Ann's death as being on November 7. The family's gravestone in Barrie Union Cemetery shows Ann's death to be on the 6th of November. Either may be correct. No doubt errors may be found on such documentation as above, but, considering the immediate date of reporting of the death, apparently the following day, the registration is probably correct. Dr. Sneath was married to the Applebe's daughter Sarah. The only other thing of some note from the standpoint of documentation is that the death was reported at Toronto, but for Barrie. This is not at all typical. Deaths were required to be reported in the town or township wherein they occurred. |
