NoteInformation for all Sylvester and Henrietta's children listed is from the 1870 U.S. census, in this case recorded at Otisville, Michigan, where Sylvester is a hotel keeper.
The first three children are recorded as born in Canada, the last two listed as born in Michigan.
In the 1880 census, John isn't listed. Is he deceased? Husted appears as being born in 1874. They are in Lapeer for the 1880 census and Sylvester is a farmer.

The Christian Messenger, 1854-1864, found at the Toronto Ref. Library lists Births, Deaths, Marriages. The following is found in the September 13 1855, issue.

By Rev. G. Patten on 24th ult. Sylvester Smith to Henrietta Moe, both of South Dumfries, Brant County.

In the 1900 U.S. census taken at Manistique, Michigan, Sylvester and Henrietta Smith are listed.

In the 1910 U.S. census taken at Manistique, Michigan, Sylvester and Henrietta Smith are listed and seem to be next door to their daughter Ida and her husband Joseph Scott.

By the 1920 census, Sylvester has died. Henrietta appears as living with Joseph and Ida. Interestingly, her name is recorded as Henrietta Moe and not as Henrietta Smith. Joseph is said to have a repair shop and Ida is a manager at Met. Life.

In 1855, in memorial 594, relating to the sale of Henry Moe's Beverly lands which was done upon his youngest son, Henry Jr., reaching his majority, Henrietta is yet unmarried, though only by months. She is described as a spinster and living in South Dumfries. Why this might have been when some of her siblings and her mother were in Berlin isn't clear. She had two sisters in Chatham at this point as well. She may have been in the Vrooman household. Nelson and Rachel Vrooman were her uncle and aunt.
