Informant J. A. Buchanan, father, Ingersoll. William's middle name is indistinctly written on the birth registration. The 1901 census shows his name as 'Wm. Roy' and here it is clearly written. A certain registration of death for William Roy Buchanan has not been found. The Oxford Counties website has a cemetery index which places W. R. Buchanan in Ingersoll Rural Cemetery, apparently with a stone shared by Dan M. Buchanan, his brother. This shows William's years of birth and death as 1894-1922. He appears in the 1911 census with his family in Ingersoll; he has not been found in the 1921 census. |
