The Cornell history of the Pioneers of Beverly places the birth of Philip and his brothers, David and Adam, in New Jersey. With Philip's place of birth as it appears in his death registration, York State, we have as the informant his son George Main. Somehow, New Jersey is more intuitive as being the place of Philip's birth, but since the death registration was returned by his son George, it seems we must accept that his birth was in New York State. A place of burial for Philip has not been found. |
