| Note | Sidney O. Hall is buried with some of his siblings and his father in Sheffield Cemetery. We have only the dates for his birth and death as they appear on the Sheffield gravestone, 10 July 1865 to 14 June 1883. Considering the errors to be found with other children's dates as they appear on the stone, these dates at least are open to doubt. The 1871 and 1881 census, however, make a birth year of 1865 at least reasonable. Beyond that, a death registration for Sidney has not been found. We do not not know his place of death, though his place of birth is almost certainly Walpole Township in Haldimand County. The family was in Walpole at the time of the 1861 and 1871 censuses. They are in North Dumfries by 1881, though it is evident that between 1871 and 1881 they spent some time in Beverly Township in Wentworth County. This we know from the few birth and death registrations to be found for siblings. North Dumfries and Beverly Township have a contiguous border and Branchton in North Dumfries is a short distance from Sheffield in Wentworth. |
