Birth | Mary Wilcox was born on 29 April 1736. |
Marriage | She married McGregor Van Every. |
Burial | She was buried at Warner Cemetery, St. Davids, Niagara Township. |
Note | Mary Wilcox Van Every's date and year of death does not appear on her gravestone. We may say, however, that she was living as late as 1792. In this year, her son David petitioned the Land Board of the Nassau District as he finds that she has sold his father's property to Adam Vrooman (who also appears in this tree). He protests this sale on behalf of himself and his siblings. He identifies his father as McGregor Van Every and refers to his widow as his (David's) mother. He states that his father died intestate and that his mother continued to live on the family property and that this was agreeable to him. He was only unhappy with the sale. The petition is to be found on reel C-2842, images 791-793. The cover of the file indicates only that it has been received. It does not indicate that any action has been taken by the Land Board in the matter. |
