Cause of death peritonitis and congestion of the lungs. Physician Dr. Kitchen. Informant Rev. Wm. M. Teeple, Troy. Ilah's name is inscribed on the family gravestone in Troy Cemetery as Ilah G. Her years of birth and death are shown on the stone as 1888-1890. Since there is no reason to question the death year on the death registration - it's consistent with other deaths on the page - the inscription was probably applied in later years. The exact date of death on the registration is unsure. It is either the 21st or the 25th, probably the later. Ilah's death registration is the one suggestion that we have that George and Lydia spent at least some time in Michigan. A birth registration for Ilah has not been found - in Michigan or anywhere else, and since George seems to have been attention to at least Ontario registrations, that Ilah was born in Michigan is probably correct. |
