Birth date 25 Apr, 1836. Parents James Scott and Helen Nichol. Janet was two years younger than sister Jane, but Janet does not appear with the family in the 1851 census at Tundergarth. At age 15 it is possible that Janet is elsewhere, perhaps working as a domestic. For the era, it is just possible that she has married. It is rather more likely that by 1851 she is deceased. |
