Robert, age 8, is with his parents in Tundergarth at the time of the 1851 census in Scotland.

He is shown as age 19 and with his parents in Blenheim Township, Oxford County, at the time of the 1861 census in Canada.

He is with the family in 1871, age 26, in North Dumfries Township.

The 1901 census shows Robert N. Scott at Galt with wife Christina. His sister Isabella is with them. Both Robert and Isabella are shown as being born in Scotland and their year of immigration is shown as 1855. And Robert's date of birth is shown in this census as 1 April, 1842, which agrees with his birth/baptism record above.

Robert N. Scott died Feb 19th, 1904. Age 62. Residence Oak Street. Married. Born Scotland. Presbyterian. Occupation agent. Physician and informant J. H. Vardon.

Norma Huber, in her Funeral Notice Cards of Waterloo County, 1851-1980, page 147, notes the passing of Robert of Robert N. Scott and tells that the funeral was held from his home on Oak Street on February 22, 1904, and that the funeral party would then proceed to Mountview Cemetery.

The inscription on Robert's gravestone in Mountview Cemetery shows him as a native of Bankshill in Dumphries-shire. The 1851 census in Scotland shows Robert as being born in Tundergarth, but also shows the present 'address' as Bankshill. Bankshill is in the parish of Tundergarth.
