Note | John Litster, age 13, appears in the 1921 census with his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Litster. They and his older sister Elizabeth (age 15) all came out from Scotland in 1911, according to the census information. Three more of John's siblings were born in Ontario. John Litster, age 3, arrived in Quebec City on October 8th, 1911, aboard the Hesperian which had sailed from Glasgow, Scotland, with his mother Elizabeth, age 28, and his sister Elizabeth, age 6. They are shown as destined to Elizabeth's husband, not named but shown as a 'mec. engineer'. The specific destination is shown as post office 'Doon', now a part of Kitchener, Ontario. Elizabeth and her children will have traveled by train the rest of their journey. |
