It does show his name as Ed. The 1870 census at Winslow shows his name as Edward, but this is probably an enumerator's error. In the 1880 census at Winslow, he is shown as Edgar H. and he is still shown as Edgar H. in the 1900 census at Ontario, Oregon.
The 1900 census shows Edgar H. Buchanan with his brother Robert in Ontario Town, Malheur County, Oregon. He is shown as being born in May 1863 in Illinois. He is shown as an actor with his brother's theatrical show. Also present Edgar's wife Jennie, born in September of 1870. They are said to be married ten years. Jennie was born in Iowa and with them is their son Archie, born in Iowa in July of 1893. |
