Mary Fergusson, 22, born and residing Beverly. Parents John (Fergusson) and Mary McVey.
Witness Robert Fergusson, Beverly.
On Sept. 15, 1865.

Mary Ambrose in her extractions from marriage notices in the Dumfries Reformer, 1860-1865, shows the following:
Dumfries Reformer edition 20 Sept 1865
Angus McKellar married Mary Ferguson in Beverly, by Rev. Robt. Acheson. Groom of Puslinch, bride the 2nd daughter of John Ferguson, Beverly.

First Church does have books of marriage records. These may be found on microfilm GS2987. From 1858, however, they began using the same form that was used for submitting the registrations to the county. In other words, they simply kept a copy. This does not provide locations for the marriages which older entries usually did.
