Fergusson, farmer, Beverly. Emma's baptism is recorded in First Church's baptism book. It shows her date of birth which agrees with her birth registration. It will be some years before death registrations are available for 1972, but we may say that this is the year that Emma died, though the information is easy to miss. She is buried in the family plot in section 4 at Mountview. Her name appears on the side of the stone that records her grandparents. The inscription is a bit obscure, but it appears that Emma married and her married name was Hurl, which appears on the stone. Voter's list information seems to confirm this, for the 1949 and 1957 voters' lists for Galt show Emma and George Hurl at 360 Dundas Street. George is shown as a machinist in both lists. A marriage record for George and Emma has yet to be found. |
