Witnesses Nelson McCready and Barthair McCready. The marriage took place at Salford. Both are shown as Episcopal Methodist and the minister was Charles Stringfellow.

There are problems with this registration. The groom more generally seems to have gone by Hugh. Annis's name has been mistranscribed by the registering clerk as Alice. Some birth registrations for their children show her name as Annie. It is now clear that 'Alice' is a mistranscription. Certainly, she is Annis on her gravestone. Hugh 'Alexander' Mulholland's age is debatable. He appears in the 1861 census in Beverly as age 12. This would place his birth closer to 1849. The names of the parents make clear that we have the right couple. Also, Hugh's brother William gives his father's middle initial as B. on his marriage registration. Sister Phelinda does as well. Son Hugh's death registration shows his father's middle name as Blair.
