Note | Birth reg. 001674-70 Ancaster, Wentworth Co. 9 August 1870, Margaret Malinda Tallman, d/o Daniel Tallman and Matilda Bishop. Informant, Daniel Tallman, by letter, Ancaster Twp. Best guess, there are handwriting problems with the above registration at some point along the line. An examination of the family in the 1881 census shows the name to be Tolmie. On her marriage registration, Margaret gives her place of birth as Lynden. The village of Lynden straddles the township line between Ancaster and Beverly. Lynden was probably the family's postal address. We do not have a certain place of burial for Margaret Tolmie Harvie, but she does appear to be buried in Section 5 of Mountview Cemetery in grave referred to as 17W-44-2. Per a transcription by the Waterloo branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, this stone reads: In loving memory of Margaret Harvie 1870-1962/at rest. |
