Verna's marriage registration shows her as Verna. Her marriage registration makes it clear that her parents are the same as shown on her birth registration. The 1901 census, taken 5 months after Verna's birth shows her as Verna; the 1911 census shows her as Verna. No Rettas or Retas are present in either census. The registration of her name as Retta would appear to be an error. |
