| Note | Birth reg. 040003-91 Waterloo Township, Waterloo Co. Maude Marion Phin born December 21st, 1890 (registered in January of 1891). Parents James P. Phin, farmer, and Charlotte Roberts. Informant father. Physician Dr. McIntyre. Note that Maude's marriage registration gives her place of birth as Hespeler. Hespeler is in Waterloo Township and was probably the postal address of her parents at the time. We may confirm this with the Waterloo Gazetteer and Directory, 1884-85, compiled by Wm. Evans, Guelph. This shows James P. Phin, postal address Hespeler, at lot 13 on the 3rd concession of Waterloo Township. James P. Phinn was a widower when he married Charlotte Roberts at St. Thomas in Elgin County on 29th April, 1885. Maude was his daughter by his second marriage. |
