| Note | Birth reg. 902453-43 Barrie, Simcoe Co. Jessie Roberta Hogg, born August 4, 1892. Parents John George Scott, coal merchant Barrie, and Jessie Burnet Hogg. This is a delayed registration of birth, enabled by a sworn-to by James William Scott at Barrie and dated January 1943. He states that he is her older brother, by 14 years, and that he was present in the home at the time of her birth. He gives her birth year as 1892. The 1911 census agrees with this. The 1901 census has difficult writing, but appears to be 1893. 1892 is accepted here. Death information come from a transcription of stones at Barrie Union Cemetery. As will be noted, Jessie Roberta Scott lived to a good age. She spent some time in the 1940s at the least with her brother, Frederick John Scott, who was a doctor in Franklin, New Jersey. She is buried in Barrie Union Cemetery and it is not known whether she died in Barrie, or was living in the U.S. with her brother and then her remains were returned to Barrie for burial. It may well be that she outlived her brother and was residing in Barrie at the time of her death. |
