Susan B. Allen, 62 (the registration does not say so, but the surname of her father suggests that she is a widow). She is said to reside in Chatham and to have been born there. Her parents were John and Susan Hooper. The witnesses were H. Hill and Mrs. Goodyear, both of Chatham.They were married on June 20, 1888, in Chatham. They were both Methodists and the clergyman was R. Johnson Treleaven.

Susan's birth date calculates from her death registration to March 10, 1826, but she herself gives her birthday as March 10, 1826, in the 1901 census taken at Chatham, so that is used here.

In 1901, a year after Israel's death, she is living with her sister, Cynthia Goodyear.

In 1911, she is in Norwich in Oxford South, in the Hendershot household. She is shown as a lodger. The head of the house is actually a Matilda Purdy.

Susan's first husband was Charles Allen and they lived at least some of their lives in Burford. They were there at the time of the 1881 census.
