See notes for Nettie's sister Williamina. The year before Nettie's marriage to George, she was enumerated with Williamina and her husband Roger in Montreal. There, Nettie was shown as a book keeper. She is also shown as such in her marriage registration.

It appears that Nettie was an interested historian. The Waterloo Region branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society transcribed the Cedar Creek Cemetery on Cedar Creek Road. The preamble to the transcription tells that Mrs. G. P. Moore wrote a history of both the Cedar Creek and Dickie Settlement cemeteries. This was published by the Waterloo Historical Society in its 1950 volume. Mrs. Moore stated that the original records burned in 1906 and duplicates from memory were made. George and Nettie are buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

The dates for George and Nettie's births and deaths are taken from the OGS transcriptions of the cemetery.
