Motheral, barber, Thorold. Physician Wm. McClure, M.D. Death reg. 013444-92 Blenheim Twp., Oxford County Matilda Motheral died May 6, 1892. Age 3 yrs., 7 mos., 25 dys. Born Thorold. Presbyterian. Cause of death diptheria and croup. Informant James Hunter, merchant, Plattsville. The 1891 census shows the Motheral family as being back in Blenheim Township. Here, as in Thorold Town, Francis is a barber. The informant, James Hunter, merchant at Plattsville, is on the same page as the Motheral family and while the page does not state such, it does appear that the family is in Plattsville and this will be where Matilda almost certainly died. On the two pages that appear in one image as originally presented by the Archives of Ontario, there are 10 death registrations shown, three of which are from diptheria. It appears that Plattsville had an epidemic. |
