| Note | Delayed registration of birth: 901990 Arthur Twp., Wellington Co. Maude Ternan born Dec. 6, 1876, Arthur Twp., Wellington Co. Father William Henry Ternan, lot 27, concession 5. Mother Margaret Jane Moore. This delayed registration of birth was filed by Maud's sister, Eliza Allen of the village of Arthur on 21 June 1941. It may be noted here that Maude Ternan, the wife of David Harper, was the sister of Cerena Ternan, the wife of Murdoch Harper. Cerena Frances Harper, the daughter of Murdoch and Cerena, was born in 1907 and her grave is shown as being with David and Maud and their daughter Mildred. A family story provided by John Irvine Macauley says that after the death of Maud's sister Cerena from complications resulting from childbirth, David and Maud took into their home Murdoch and Cerena's daughter, Cerena Frances, and raised her. |
