NoteThe Tweedsmuir Histories have some family stories online as presented by the Wellington County Museum and Archives. A history of the McNabb family of Arthur Township, written by a descendant, describes how the family went through a difficult period, apparently in the 1930s, when some of them died and others were seriously ill. An attractive description of Mary Ann Harper, sister of Murdock Harper, is given and tells how she came to keep house for the family and 'made no charge'. She is described as being just like a mother and was much loved by the family. It goes on to say that she 'went west to finish her living with her brother in Maidstone, Saskatchewan.' For the moment, it's unclear which brother this would be. She had a niece, Margaret Macauley Reeds, in Maidstone. Likely, Margaret's brother Irvine was there at the time as well.
