Sidney Misner, 26, bachelor, clerk, Methodist. Born Troy, residing St. George. Parents Conrad and Elizabeth Misner.
Alice Babcock, 23, spinster, Baptist. Born and residing South Dumfries. Parents Charles and Jane Babcock.
Witnesses Thomas P. Lawrason of Beverly and C. A. Babcock of South Dumfries.
On January 17th, 1877, at South Dumfries, by Rev. Thomas Henderson.

At first glance, the handwriting of David Baptie, registrar of South Dumfries, would seem to suggest that the first witness was Thomas R. Lawrason of Beverly. A closer examination of his letters R and P indicate that he wrote Thomas P. Lawrason. This will be Thomas Picton Lawrason and he is certainly of an age to be a chum of Charles Babcock. The other available Thomas Lawrasons don't fit a reasonable profile to be a witness for this marriage.

The witness C. A. Babcock will be Alice's sister Cynthia Ann.

DeathHe died on 16 August 1917.
BurialHe was buried at Section 6, Mountview Cemeterery, Galt.
NoteSidney Misener's marriage registration places his birth in Troy. His father gave land to Troy for the local cemetery. If Sidney wasn't born in the the village of Troy, and he probably wasn't, then he will have been born in Beverly Township. The family farm will have been close enough to Troy to make this a minor point.
