Marriage | He married Sarah Job Howell, daughter of James Howell and Joanna Job, in 1851 at Liverpool.
The marriage registration for Robert and Sarah has not been sought, but the FreeBMD website provides us with sufficient information. The records are for the end of the first quarter of 1851 (March); the volume is 20 and the page 368. There are a number of names that are possible matches as couples on the page, but we may safely recognized Robert Hugh Job and Sarah Job Howell. It's evident that Robert and Sarah were first cousins. |
Note | Robert H. Job appears in the 1851 census as a guest at Wood's Hotel in Middlesex County, England. He is shown as married, age 28, a general merchant, and as being born in St. John's, Newfoundland. With him is wife Sarah J. Job, 23, born Liverpool.
Wood's Hotel seems to be connected in some manner with the Furnival Inn. It is not directly stated where this is located, but may be in the Borough of Finsbury, a part of London. |
