Mary is buried next to her parents. Her date of birth is calculated from her age as shown on her gravestone. Such calculations may often be approximate, but her date of birth, 14 June, 1808, agrees with information provided by Dr. Reive in Douglas Robbins' 1991 transcription (see pages 385 & 386). Page 386 provides dates of birth for the family of Nicholas Misener and Jane McClain, apparently obtained from notes in a family bible in the possession of Adoram Misener of Welland. Page 14 of the 1953 Harley Misener papers, either quoting from the 1895 Dundas Banner article, or adding to it (it isn't clear), states that Mary was born in Crowland Township. |
