Vol. 9 of the Annals of the Forty, Loyalist and Pioneer Families of West Lincoln, 1783 - 1833, published by The Grimsby Historical Society, 1958 (reprinted 1988), page 60, tells of James Wedge, 1776-1861, and his wife Susan, who settled near Sheffield. This is part of a broader Wedge family history compiled by George Nunamaker of Rochester.

Mr. Nunamaker ascribes to James and Susan the following children: James, William, Susan, Lavina, Oliver, Reuben.

The Wedge family has not been looked at in detail for this tree, but we may note that the Hamilton Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society in its transcription of Sheffield Cemetery shows the following:

James Wedge died December 25, 1861, aged 85 yrs, 5 mos, 2 dys.

A stone for Susan was evidently not found.
