Adam Misener Jr. died Jan. 13, 1881, age 29 years, 10 mos., 24 dys. Laborer, born Beverly. Informant Conrad Misener Jr., Laborer, Beverly.

A calculation of Adam's age from this death registration would suggest a birth date of 20 February 1851. His twin sister Adeline's death, many years later, gives her birth as 9 March 1851. Since the first date is based on some counting that may be prone to error, the birth date shown here is per Adeline's death registration. This is also the date shown on the 1901 census at Oakland, apparently in Oxford County at the time, and will likely have been provided by Adeline herself.

Harley Misener in his Troy Cemetery transcription shows Adam's inscription as: 10 March 1851 to 13 Jan 1881. This goes some distance in justifying a birth date for Adam that agrees with Adeline's.

It should be noted that in the above death registration Adam and Conrad birth are referred to as junior. This was likely for purposes of clarity. Adam Misener Sr. was the father of Conrad and the grandfather of Adam Jr. Conrad, son of Adam, was a nephew of Conrad Misener, also buried at Troy.

Adam Misener's place of burial:

We should note here that in the 1990 transcription of Troy Cemetery, Caroline Misener's stone, nbr. 245, has beside it stone 244. According to this transcription, the only word that appears on it is: Adam. Harley Misener's transcription of 1969 picks up what appears to be a complete transcription of the stone, but isn't in any clear order with regards to the other Misener stones. Considering the location of a stone next to Caroline's with the name Adam on it, per the 1990 transcription, we must believe that this is her son. Certainly, his birth age of 1851 is such that he can't be the son of either of his grandfather Adam's wives.
