Parents Js. & Lany Lawrason. Margaret Jane Allen, 27, spinster (writing faded), English Church. Born Shiebigwake (?), Quebec, residing Gordon, Manitoulin Island. Witnesses Robert Dunlop and Jane (?), both of Gordon. On March 31st, 1879, at Township of Gordon, by Rev. N. McKay. Margaret's place of birth is probably Shigawake in the Gaspe, but the above transcription is the best that can be made of faded handwriting. |

The form does not provide a space for entry of place of burial. Mountain View Cemetery has an online burial index. It states that it is not complete. It certainly places Margaret and son John in Mountain View. Other indexing suggests that Joseph and son Thomas are buried here as well. It's possible that this is not entirely correct, but, given the context, it seems likely that the family is buried together. |
